Addressing Mail
We advise all customer to ensure incoming items are correctly addressed to their account details with OfficeServ. However, items do arrive either addressed to unknown recipients or without detailing an addressee.
What Happens To Incorrectly Addressed Mail?
Letters - Any letters arriving that we are unable to match to an existing account or account holder are held for a maximum of 7 days. On the 7th day these are returned to sender if possible.
Parcels Non-Tracked - Parcels arriving that we are unable to match to an existing account or account holder are held for a maximum of 14 days. On the 14th day these are returned to sender if possible via Royal Mail.
Parcels Tracked - Tracked Parcels arriving that we are unable to match to an existing account or account holder are held for a minimum of 14 days and a maximum of 30 days where storage is possible. Items are then disposed of as delivering couriers are not able to accept any unorganized return.
Items are then disposed of in the most environmentally friendly way circumstances allow. This includes donating to charity and recycling.
Why Do The Delivery Not Get Refused In The First Place?
Due to the volume of mail and deliveries our office receives on a daily basis it is not possible to verify the receipt name at the time of delivery. This is normally because of the delivering courier making multiple drops at our office simultaneously to different recipients. They are not able to wait while we check each item.
