Insurance & Liability Of Items

Insurance & Liability Of Items

Does OfficeServ provide any insurance or cover items delivered at any address they provide?

No, we OfficeServ do not provide any insurance cover for or guarantee the safety of any items delivered to any address we provide. No service provided by OfficeServ covers any theft, damage or loss in any way for anything handled directly or indirectly.
As we handle such a large amount of mail, packages, large parcels and pallet size shipments, we are unable to provide any guarantee to cover our client against any losses. Mainly because we are unable to insure or even seek insurance for what we do not know is there. A box could contain someones new business cards or it could contain a £2,000 laptop, we are not able to insure the unknown.

Insurance For Goods In-transit

Most of the forwarding providers we use, can provide enhanced services that cover the loss of valuable items in transit. Royal Mail have "Special Delivery" for high value items. FedEx can provide cover up to £2,000 per shipment.
  1. It is solely the clients responsibility to inform OfficeServ when enhanced cover is required to forward something.
  2. Any enhanced cover provided is solely provided by the courier and not OfficeServ.
  3. In the event of any loss, the client must be able to provide and comply with the couriers requirements to process any claim.
Most couriers will require the claimant to provide detailed information about any lost item, please keep this in mind. If you have any doubts make sure to read the terms of the shipper used before choosing to use their services. Information required my include such things as: Purchase Invoice, Proof Of Payment, Weight & Size, Origin Information, Photos or Other Proof.

Insurance For Goods Held At Our Office

It is possible to obtain insurance for your goods while they are at our office, you would need to speak with your business insurance provider or a business insurance broker to find out more information on this. Again, it would be solely the clients responsibility to implement and maintain any insurance cover.
